Amazon is of great importance in order to regulate earth climate, it helps in regulating amount of carbon dioxide present in atmosphere. So everyone including food gaints like KFC need Amazon for survival.Without Amazon world would have to face droughts, famines, storms, heat waves and rapid increase in temperature of earth which will make jt inhabitable for living things. Amazon plays the role of lungs for earth and makes it able breath.
Because Other Companies Are Taking Action
Companies like H&M and Timberland will not use leather from brazil until they are sure it is not harmful for the environment. Even in financial sectors two big investment funds and management companies are limiting their investment in Brazil.If these companies can take action against Amazon fires to protect environment KFC and MacDonald’s should also take action against it.
Their Policy Against Deforestation
Food gaints like KFC are committed to stop deforestation but unfortunately they haven’t taken action against Amazon Fires. They instead continue to buy from companies which are linked in destruction of Amazon and notorious meat-packers who operate in Amazon. The companies aggressively build demand of meat which promotes deforestation. This attitude promote agribusiness aggressive expansion in Amazon and other forests.Because They Buy Products Which Promotes Forests Destruction
The Amazon fires are no accident, according to a report about 2.5 million hectares of land was destroyed in the Brazilian Amazon. Fires were started by farmers and land grabers encouraged by president Bolsonaro's call to open Amazon to agriculture.Brazil natural ecosystems are destroyed by destructing Amazon for for production of beef and soya, and KFC and Burger King sourcing vast amount of these goods. Both MacDonald’s and Burger King buy Brazilian beef. All these companies serve chicken fed a diet of soya from Brazil.
